Peptides, without the shortcuts.

A clear starting point for understanding the category.

One word, many different medicines

Peptides are chains of amino acids. The category includes medicines with very different uses and evidence. The word “peptide” alone tells you little about whether a product is approved, appropriate or legally available. Begin with the exact molecule and product.

Where GLP-1 medicines fit

Semaglutide is a peptide GLP-1 receptor agonist. Tirzepatide is a peptide medicine that acts at GIP and GLP-1 receptors. Some medicines that act at GLP-1 receptors are not peptides: orforglipron is a small molecule. NAD+ is a coenzyme, not a peptide.

Follow the evidence before the storefront

Approved prescription products, compounded preparations and investigational compounds belong in different conversations. A clinic’s marketing page is a source for its service terms; it is not enough to establish a molecule’s safety or effectiveness.

A useful first question

Ask a licensed clinician for the exact generic and brand name, why it is being considered, and the relevant approved labeling or evidence. We focus our commercial comparisons on care services and do not provide self-treatment instructions.
