GLP-1 monthly payments: what are you committing to?

A monthly charge, a monthly equivalent and a one-month purchase mean different things.

Our take

Look at the payment schedule and the length of the obligation together. Ro’s monthly care option, WeightWatchers’ twelve-month plan and bmiMD’s one-month or annual semaglutide offers should not be grouped under a single “monthly” label.

Prices are not a personal quote. All listings require clinical evaluation; state access is unconfirmed.

Monthly billing can still mean a longer term

WeightWatchers Clinic advertises $25 for the introductory month, followed by $74 per month on a twelve-month plan; medication is additional. The recorded plan renews for the same term. Before choosing it for a manageable monthly charge, ask about early-exit obligations and the deadline for preventing another term.

A monthly equivalent is a division, not a payment schedule

Ro’s annual-prepayment offer advertises a $74 monthly equivalent for care, excluding medicine. bmiMD’s $1,428 annual package works out to $119 per month. Neither equivalent establishes that you can pay that figure one month at a time. Confirm the amount collected today and the rules for unused care or supply.

A one-month offer is useful but incomplete

bmiMD lists a $159 one-month semaglutide option. The offer concerns compounded semaglutide; compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. Confirm renewal behavior, the quantity supplied and what services are included. A one-month product price can help a short-term budget, but it does not by itself establish cancellation timing or the future clinical plan.

Put the dates beside the dollars

Record payment date, supply end date, next charge date and cancellation deadline. If billing occurs every four weeks, there are thirteen such cycles in 364 days, rather than twelve calendar-month charges. Ask the provider to reconcile the billing and delivery schedule so a low headline number does not conceal a different annual obligation.
